Privacy
Short version: if you join the early list we keep your email address. Nothing else about you is collected, and there are no accounts, ads or tracking.
About you
- Your email address, only if you join the early list: the address, the date, which form you used and a random code for the unsubscribe link. We use it to tell you when GMD Verdicts open and for occasional notes about them. Nothing else.
- One cookie, set when you join, so this browser remembers you joined. It holds your address, is signed so it cannot be altered, and expires after a year. If we have given you an access key, a second signed cookie holds it.
- Settings in your browser: your text size and whether the tickers are paused are saved in your browser's local storage. They never leave your device.
- Server logs: our host, Cloudflare, keeps standard request logs (including IP addresses) for a short time for security and fault finding.
- No analytics, advertising or cross-site tracking of any kind.
Your choices
- Every email has an unsubscribe link. One click deletes your address from our list.
- To see, correct or delete anything we hold about you, email hello@gamemarketdata.com. We act within 30 days.
- Clearing this site's cookies and local storage in your browser removes everything kept on your device.
- We keep your address until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.
Steam data we hold
Game Market Data uses public Steam store data, including data from the Steam Web API under Valve's Steam Web API Terms of Use. For each app on the store we hold:
- name, developer, publisher, type, store tags and their order, list price, release dates and store status;
- review counts and the share of positive reviews, including monthly totals and the count of Chinese-language reviews;
- follower counts and wishlist rank for upcoming games, and concurrent player counts, as daily readings.
No player data: no reviewer names, IDs, profiles or review text, and nothing about who owns or plays what. Game images on this site load straight from Steam's servers and link to the store page.
This site shows figures derived from that data per genre and niche, never a copy of the catalogue. The data is provided as is, with no guarantee of accuracy, and nothing here is financial advice. If Valve withdraws access, we delete the Steam data as its terms require.
Where it is kept
The full Steam data set is kept in a private database on our own collection machine. This site and its database, including early-list addresses, run on Cloudflare (Workers and D1).
Storage country for both is confirmed here before public launch.
Confirmation emails, when switched on, are sent through Resend.
Not affiliated
Game Market Data is independent and not affiliated with or endorsed by Valve Corporation. Steam and the Steam logo are trademarks of Valve Corporation. Questions about this policy: hello@gamemarketdata.com.
